Description: “Txol Xa’q” (pronounced “shull-shak”) means “between rocks” in the local language of the Asodiett group. Asodiett is a coffee producer association from Aldea Mash, Todos Santos, Huehuetenango. This coop is formed by 30 coffee producing families. Many of the families produce textiles in addition to coffee to sustain their families. The cooperative was an initiative of the community leader, founder and current president of the association, Macario Calmo. The idea came from the need for financial aid for them to continue the production of coffee and provide for the families in the town. Together they have achieved to get their coffee and reputation to be known. The Asodiett group continues to receive support from different organizations to improve their quality. Bodhi Leaf has made a long-term commitment to the group to improve quality and pay sustainable prices year after year.
